Hi! I'm Sonia. I was born and raised on the shores of Lake Maggiore, where I still live today. I’ve always dreamed of working in tourism, and that dream finally came true in 2023 when I finished renovating my aunt and uncle’s former home.

Casa Ilanga owes its name to the original owner’s passion for South Africa - my Aunt Elena. In fact, "Ilanga" means "Sun" in Zulu (an official language of South Africa), and no other name could be more fitting, as the house enjoys sunlight all day long.

Ilanga is located in the center of Cannero Riviera, just 500 meters from the Lido di Cannero, one of the most renowned public beaches on the lake.

Fun fact: This house was home to the protagonist of a children's picture book I wrote: Katy - The Water Dog.

It tells the funny stories of a charming, sleepy Golden Retriever gifted with fantastic magical powers.
